  1. To delete a database, confirm that all users (including yourself) are logged out of the database and make note of the exact database name.
    • This deletes the database from the GlobalSearch interface, but not the SQL database.
  1. Click the More Options icon in the selected database bar.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Because this will delete the database from GlobalSearch and its Index Field data, enter the displayed text in the Confirm Action prompt.
  4. Click Delete

Backing Up Databases

As with any key information, always backup your SQL databases on a regular basis.



Restoring Databases

When deleting a database, the database itself is not deleted from SQL Server, just access to the database through the GlobalSearch interface is removed. Use the desktop client to create a new database with the same name as the deleted database to restore access.
