- To delete a database, confirm that all users (including yourself) are logged out of the database and make note of the exact database name.
- This deletes the database from the GlobalSearch interface, but not the SQL database.
- Click the More Options icon in the selected database bar.
- Click Delete.
- Because this will delete the database from GlobalSearch and its Index Field data, enter the displayed text in the Confirm Action prompt.
- Click Delete
Backing Up Databases
As with any key information, always backup your SQL databases on a regular basis.
Restoring Databases
When deleting a database, the database itself is not deleted from SQL Server, just access to the database through the GlobalSearch interface is removed. Use the desktop client to create a new database with the same name as the deleted database to restore access.
