Like the “In” box for paper on an end user’s desk, Inboxes in the GlobalSearch desktop client provide a temporary and secure repository for capturing and viewing documents prior to being indexed into the database. Users can easily drag records into the desktop client or scan documents directly to an Inbox for future archiving.

While they are not used in the GlobalSearch web client, as a member of the SSAdmin group or a database administrator, you can configure Inboxes for your desktop client users. For details on setting Inbox security, please refer to the User Management section of this documentation.
